Default Need some help please

94 LT1, and I'm replacing the opti, Im so close. Im looking in the GM Preliminary corvette manual and its showing the crankshaft balancer and hub as 2 separate parts. The balancer, do I need a puller, or will it tap off? Cause it looks like the hub can stay on and I'll still be able to get the opti off. Thanks in advance.

You seem to be right on track. Maybe you are done by now... but yes, the balancer pulley can come off the hub after removing the 3 bolts (leave center bolt) then tapping with a stick/rod & hammer from the rear under the car. Left Right Left Right etc to keep it even. Notice the balancer has an arrow at the TDC position, and the hub has a long line between two of the bolt holes for this TDC position. At least my 92 did. If you don't remove the hub this is easy to line up.

I kept going and did my seals & front cover gasket, sleeving the hub too because it had a groove.

Thanks, I did that, first spraying it the night before, and used a bigger hammer (not getting too carried away) and off it came. I order the Accel opti from summit, should be here wednesday or thursday of next week. I got the water pump gaskets from them too.

Holy cow, Summit delivered it the next day. Its on and Im back on the road again. Along with the miss that is gone, is the feeling of drag on the motor when the A/C compressor would cycle. I can't even feel it anymore, it idles and runs so smooth now.
