Member JEFFNSLA its a lowering expert since what i know
And since I wasn't buying the wedges I just went to Fastenal and bought the 9/16" bolts I needed. I actually got them for free so my lowering job didn't cost me a dime.

They only were able to get 8" also they may not of tried very hard to locate them. Ended up getting them from Eckler's ( Bought just the bolts and nuts)

Start disassembling the front end first. As you go questions will come up and we will help you to get your Vett lower to the ground.
We have pleanty of "lowering Veterans" in here. Wev and Jeff helped me. My problem was the monospring shims. I'm waiting for my Wi-Fi card, once I get it, I can e-mail you pictures of the process.
Ensure the Vette is very high, to remove the stock monospring it needs lots of clearance.
BEWARE, it doesnt stop there...
You'll have to remove the brakes and rotors, do you already have a C5 conversion?...
...32mm sway bar front and 26mm rear
...poly bushings
...don't forget to check the spare tire, I bet it is deflated

I would just remove the steel caps on the OEM rubbers on the spring, sand them down and glue the caps back on. Cut the spring support brackets accordingly. That's it! Put it back together. Of course my car is a '96 so this might not work for other years.

How much did you lower in front and rear total?
I'm sure a LOT of people would interested in hearing more details on how to lower their vette for almost nothing!
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan

When doing the removal just be very patient and not in a hurry, or all you will do is get mad and screw things up. Good luck

wheels off, Brake calipers off, brake lines off and cap them with a rubber cap, rotors off, using a jack-keep LCA up, you may/will need a ball joint tool ($9.99 at NAPA), remove pit arms, loose shock at the bottom, remove ball joints, if you brake the ball joints rubber caps, buy new ones, lower the LCA, remove shock, remove the 4-bolts that hold the front monospring. NOW, if the car is not high enough you'll know, slide the monospring out.
Take a Brake
Cut off the rubber mounts.
If you plan on re-using the shims, I think it would be easier if you heat it up. This procedure will melt the rubber and the excess rubber will peel off. Some owners did not re-used their shims, I did.
I did not re-used the stock monospring. I bought a Sport VBP monospring and it came with the rubber mounts glued. I read owners glued them with epoxy but VBP glues theirs with windshield glue.
