oil filter adapter gaskets - use which o-ring in flepro kit?
Got a FelPro oil pan gasket kit for my 92 LT1. It also includes gaskets for the oil filter adapter, and for the cooler that I don't think I have.
I'm just a little confused as to which o-ring I should be using on the oil filter adapter....
The one I took off had squared corners (still round, more cylindrical than a true o-ring)
The new squared-corner one is taller. So much so that I think it is a too tall...I'm talking over 2x the height. Could it have gotten compressed that much over time? Or should I be using the rounded-corner true o-ring that is about the same height?
BTW the old gasket is a sonofab1tch to get off... gasket remover spray eats skin too and it drips
