Bought some brand at the parts store and they don't clear the hood. Which ones work and does anyone have part numbers? I hope I don't need to go to the dealer for wiper blades.
Try this trick first before replacing blades. Wet a scotchbrite pad with soapy water and clean the leading edge of the wiper blade to remove the old, hardened, oxidized rubber. The wiper blades should work like new.

Re: Which wiper blades fit. (Crazy Canuck)
I second the Triton (or is it Tricor?). They are an exact match for OEM including the molded in notch end. I got mine at Wal Mart. I recall it was the model "B".

Re: Which wiper blades fit.
I tried all of the aftermarket and then went GM. MUCH better. They actually work now. I either bought them from Jeff Koop or TLD, don't remember which but what a difference.
I know one of the big houses must make these for GM, but dang if I could find out which one. Been good now for a year, aftermarket either did not fit or were shot in a few uses.
What's good for the General is good for the USA. If you buy aftermarket it's trial and error. The Generals' fit and work perfict. Sometime Walmart is not your friend.
The problem is that GM blades are $25 each from a dealer. Jeff Kopp is probably less, but when you get caught in a rain storm, you get caught in a rain storm...

Jason, agree. But that's why you ask on the forum. It's worth waiting for, believe me I have been there. I just wish I could find out who's making them so we could all go buy the right parts, but I tried them all when mine was a daily driver and none worked well. JMO.
I used the "Trico Exact Fit", I think from Autozone or Pep Boys, about $8. each. They are the same size , height as the originals. Work fine on my '86.
Barrier :)
PIAA the Company that makes auxillary lights, released a Super Silicone Wiper Blade. Priced at 40-45 dollars a pair, they are not cheap but from what I've read abut them, they're the best wiper blade on the market. I plan on getting a pair soon, I'll let you know how they are.
A month or two ago I started a thread on Bosch blades and how to fit them to a C4. I also have a LT4 CE and was frustrated with the cost and quality of GM blades. I found that replacing the blades and blade-holders with 21" Bosch worked just fine. The Bosch replacement blade inserts and holders require a very minor trim to clear the hood, which can be neatly done with diagonal cutters. The blade carriers are designed to be used with severaldifferent types of arm attachments, and they fit the Corvette "pin" style perfectly.
I've had mine on for about two or three months and I'm very satisfied. No squeaking or chattering, and the blades are about $6 a pair, or with the complete blade (insert) plus carrier it will cost you about $12.
The long piece I wrote on a step-by-step process on how to do the replacement is probably still recoverable if you do a search under "Bosch Wiper Blades".
Heck, I don't even need to do Rain-X anymore to get the blades to run smoothly.
