Seat Interchangeability
Hi!
My '89 Ebay rat currently has some '88-style seats (standard--not sport) in it that I bought used and fixed up about three years ago (they cleaned up really well, and I touched them up with black dye). Occasionally I have thought about getting some '96 style standard seats, and am wondering whether you also have to change the seat buckets, or whether you could get '96 seat covers mounted on new foam and simply snap them into the '88 buckets---does anyone have any ideas? It appears that the backs of the '96 style wrap around the buckets??

buying the entire used seat is the way i would go. a pair of 96 seats will bolt right in. a nice set of used seats runs $400 if they have a ding or two up to $700-800 if they are flawless. might be less for standard seats as i have only kept track of sport prices.
