Default headlight sensors maybe.....

hi there, can some one tell me why sometimes i turn on side lights, the headlights spin round and are off. and other times i turn on side lights and head lights stay down unless i swith them on. this is bugging me because i drive on side lights quite often but dont want the headlights up unless im using them. so is it ment to do that? and how can i run just side lights when i want. thanks

I am taking a guess and saying you mean driving lights or parking lights. If they come on with the switch set to parking lights, your switch is going south.

No offense, but it was harder understanding your question, than answering the question.

lol, that will be the british thing again. ok so the switch feels fine, il try and explain. sometimes when i turn dial one click for perking lights, the headlights will spin open but arnt lit. and some times when i turn the dial one click, the headlights stay closed. but either way, when i turn head light switch on full (2 clicks) they come up and are lit as normal. basically i when i turn on park lights (one click on dial) i want just park lights. not open headlights although they arnt on. is that simpler!??

hi there, thanks for all the suggestions, to day i stripped down, tested and cleaned the switch and its working perfect. im still stuck with this and would realy appricate any further ideas. the problem again, when i turn my side lights on (one click) the head lamps open up and remain off. i dont want them to open up unless i turn them on (2 clicks of switch), they didnt use to, but have just started doing so. please help thanks

Me wonders if they use capital letters on the other side of the pond. Mabey they use a different spelling book too.

Replace the switch. It is not working perfect. You have a short somewhere. You could check between the switch plug and the relays to find it or it is the switch.
