Default Inner Fender skirts

See the photos.

Should the flat bottom of the LH and RH front inner fender skirts be mirror images of one another. When I took mine off, I notices what appears to be road rash on the RH one. At first I thought just the part that looks like it has a bite out of it was gone, But placing the two of them face to fce, it appears that the RH one is missing the tab that extends toward the center of the car. Don't understand how that could happen as the "tab" fits up above the bar that attached to the bumper, but apparentlt something got into it.

Can anyone confirm that they should or should not be mirrors? If not, does anyone have a photo of the inboard edge of the RH one?

Also looking at the LH one - with the tab - what are the holes in the tab for, I see nowhere under the car where a bolt would go through those - Any thoughts?

Side by side - tool points toward the missing area.

Face to face - appears that a lot of material is gone IF they are supposed to be mirror images of one another

Here are a couple of pics I just shot of my '91 front right fenders. The fenders are in 3 pieces, I do not think your earlier year vette shares the 3 fender design. However below are two pics of LD85's 85 vette with rubberized undercoating sprayed onto the fenders.

LD85's Vette (Hope he doesn't mind me using his pics so much):
