I read the instructions, and took a inside measurement on the keyed hub that I removed they were almost identical. The ati hub was a little bigger than the other hub, by .0001. I installed the ati hub yes using an install tool. It went on easy and seamed to bottom out, The problem that I incurred was the balance won't clear the rack & pinion when I try to slide it on the hub. I took a sighting down from the alternator pulley and it looks like it will line up If I could get the balancer on the hub. Got any words of wisdom for this problem.
When I put mine in ( with a supercharger) I pulled the bolts out of the rack, (using a distributor wrench to get the the ones on the passenger side), i pushed the rack forward and installed the pulley on the passenger side, with a little coaxing mine went through with no problems. If you unbolt the sway bar you have a ton of room to move the rack further forward.
It sounds like you have the hub on, you are just needing to get the pulley in to bolt to the hub ?
I installed mine while the engine was on the stand and the three bolts still barely touched the rack. I ended up grinding down the heads of the bolts a tad just to get the clearance I needed.
Another concern is the bolts call for a special size bit. It's a PLUS (+) size that I bought from Summit Racing. If I remember correctly it's a
