Decided to go racing on my birthday (fri 13th )
Car was pig slow, but consistant as could be. Wound up in the winners circle , only to be informed I was smoking out the right tailpipe.
Filled the oil, limped it home, and celebrated the win.
It is sitting on the stand waiting to be assembled. Thats part of the reason I am not too concerned about all the smoke on decell. I may swap in the 400, or I may toss the new afr heads on the current 383.
Happy Birthday !!! and congrats on the win sorry about the luck with the car but at least you know how to fix it blindfolded, if my car started doing that I would ****ing panic
Congrats and that sucks. Just remember Pete, you could be in my shoes and it could be a lot worse.
In my case, it really doesn't matter what it is. It could certainly be worse. Fortunately I have plenty of spare parts, and I am tight with a machinest.
Did a quick leakdown and compression test, and both were fine.
Likely a leaky intake base gasket, or one of the sh1tty teflon crap valve seals ripped.

Anything I can break, I can eventually fix. Pretty lucky in that regard. Time is something I do not have. I will probably keep running the cropduster
Under all street conditions, no smoke. Only when I snap the throttle closed at the strip, does it billow out.
