Default optispark eliminator?

since my opti has died, I have been reading about a system that eliminates your opti all together. makes it a "coil per cylinder" setup like an LS1.
has anyone tried this yet?

it costs about the same as an MSD opti but eliminates it and uses the opti as a crank trigger and a box that hooks into your opti harness as a controller.

they are made for the vette and should not look like a hack job.
just want to see some pix or comments on someone who has tried this already before I spend the money and time doing this swap.

Buy a DynaSpark $600-$700 and be done with it, much simpler and you really don't need to spend the extra cash. The DynaSpark is similar to the MSD but came before and is rebuildable with roller berarings. The Delteq you speak of requires the opti, prefferably a new one with roller bearings. So for about $1,500.00 you'll have spark.

Try using a Dynaspark with the high voltage side removed to signal the Delteq. The Accel DFI controls the spark.

At one time there was an Electromotive Opti-Eliminator.
Read the details here:
http://members.aol.com/InjuneerZZ/Emotive.htm

It was designed by the same J. C. Hyde that designed the Delteq.

The Electromotive Opti-Eliminator was discontinued years ago.
And, I'm not sure if the Delteq is still available -- the website is there, but I don't know anyone that has gotten a reply in months.

Yes I have. I went with the LTCC setup, that uses LS1 coils. I have had zero ignition issues since swapping and would recommend it to anyone.

Another solution is to drill a hole in the intake (a la LT1 intake on a regular SBC), put in a regular distributor, and use that to distribute the spark. Still use the optical half, stock ignition control module, and stock coil, but don't use the opti cap and rotor. This could be done for cheaper than the LTCC setup, BUT you still need the stock coil and ignition control module (which LTCC doesn't use).

LS1 coils are cheap and proven to be very tough and put out plenty of spark.

I see there are many viable options over an opti.
I only want to do this once. a made to fit swap in conversion sounds good as done if I can choose between them. I was unaware of this until someone mentioned it to me that I should go that route. they did it on a camaro and said it should work on the vette.

obviously not, there seem to be several out there that have done this. I am not sure if I want that route or just go MSD.
