A Slick Solution
1) I found an attractive shift **** that matched the dash/console kit that was already installed (Hey, I like it)

2) Off to Radio Shack for a switch

3) I pryed the side of the casing off to allow access to the inside of the **** and drilled it out just large enough for the button to poke through and have some play. A little JB Weld to hold it in place. Then I drilled access for the wires to be fed down the pipe.

4)Here is how the finished **** appeared:

5) I then fed the wires through the reverse lock out ring (dont know the proper name for it) There is a groove that runs down the shaft, run the wire down that groove and tape it in place

6)I put everything in order and began to button it all together:

7) You'll need to turn the **** about 15 times counterclockwise so that when you screw the **** on the wires dont get too twisted up:

The end result is a very fuctional and very dicreet and attractive solution to a problem thats been bugging me for a year now!
