Default MAF Relay question
My car threw a code 36 recently and I had a question about replacing the relay's

I was under the impression that the MAF power sensor and the MAF burn off relay were different but for '87 GM lists one relay not two. How probable is it that they used the same relay for both jobs?

100% possible. Thats exactly how it is. Just buy two and replace both.

I have had MAF codes two times in 10 years. Both times I just replaced both relays. Easy and inexpensive.
