Default Black tag ZF

I am swapping my blue tag ZF to a black tag (93) in my 96 LT4. Turns out the throwout bearing is different. The snout on the black tag is about .060 larger in diameter and requires a different bearing. My local clutch guys never heard of it. Anyone know a good source for the correct part?

Thanks

i thought all you needed was the early style pressure plate and throwout bushing. i know ram clutches can get you both.

The TOB has a smaller ID on the Blue Tag

I know that Ecklers and MidAmerica sells them loose.

The GM# you need is 10203567 or the Delco CT 1073 for trans through '93. You might see if any of the major bearing suppliers can help you by an interchange OR swap the guide tube from the later transmission to the earlier transmission!!
That will acomplish the same task!

Champion in Houston OR Scoggin-Dickey in Lubbock should have what you need!

could be a good excuse to do a clutch job depending on what kind of shape yours is in. if you still have the DM flywheel the disc is the same and you just use the 89-93 pressure plate, should all bolt up. it's either that or do the above mentioned change. clutch might be a couple bucks more but it would also give you a new unit.

If your present clutch is "fresh" I'd swap the guide tube or give it serious consideration. I might also prefer a buy of the higher dollar OE and make sure it is OE. There are many/many/many "knock-offs" in the bearing industry and I've heard there are issues with some that are packaged with inexpensive clutch packages. Notice I said "heard" and I'll not point in any particular direction!

If you do a clutch package don't "cheap-out" and make sure there's a labor reimbursement for the labor or a portion of labor if it fails! Warranty is "important"!!
