Take off the licence plate and the backing lights and go in from there and turn the socket counter clockwise to get them out

Remove the license plate, the back up light and reach in with a 10mm socket on a 1/4 drive ratchet and remove the 2 bolts that hold the light in place. When you are done you may need band aides or if you have fat hands you will need some help from a 12 year old.

That's what I did on my '95.

If you take out the 10mm nuts, does that release the entire assembly (bulb & lens)?

By they way, it helps to have thin arms. I am a big guy...I could not fit my arm in as far as needed to replace the bulb. My wife was able to stick her whole arm right in there and remove/replace the bulbs no problem. Every C4 should come with a skinny wife to help with this type of work. hehehe.
