Default Differential question---what bushings to use ?

I read a post recently that polyurethane bushings used with the diff carrier and
in that area will increase the noise level from the diff gears and not be a good
choice. anyone who has done this--i would like to hear your comment
thanks

Default Re: Differential question---what bushings to use ? (chas stark)

I have all urethane bushings in the rear area(will do the fronts in the spring hopefully) and didnt notice any more noise. Then again,I had flowmaster mufflers then switched to eliminators so the exhaust is a little loud, probably masking any noise.
The ride is so much better and alot is because the old GM bushings were completely worn out from age resulting in a harsh noisy feel ride.
I satisfied with the urethanes and unless you drive on really rough roads everyday, you prob wont notice if it rides a little stiffer.
I dont see how those bushings can transmit more noise from the rear end itself unless it was already whining at an unacceptable level.
