Valve covers
will all year center bolt valve cover fit all years with center bolts on LT1's and if not, why. Reason I ask I ordered a custom set and I now question if they will work when they arrive.

From what I can tell by the parts magazines, they will fit. I asked the same question a few days ago. I am about to buy a new set for my LT1.

Thanks guys, I was about to ask this same question. Thinkin about getting some new covers for my LT1 also. Any ideas on what to get? I do know just to watch the clearance on some of the drivers side brackets with aftermarket valve covers. :seeya

I dont know how to explain this but the answer is no...they are not all the same...I bought a set of MOROSO aluminum covers for an LT1 and after I had them polished I found out they would not fit on my 96 LT1....I dont know the years when they changed but I can tell you on a 96 LT1 the bolt that goes thru the valve cover goes into a casting that sticks up from the head.. its almost as high as the valve cove is tall....and its a very short bolt....on the valve covers I had the casting was on the valve cover and the bolts were as long as the valve cover is tall......Im sure some one can be a lot more specific than I have been but you need to check a little more.....cause I know they are not all the same...I sold mine to a buddy with an older Chev pickup...and they fit fine...hope I didnt just confuse the issue......
