Default Jack stand placement?

Where are the best places to position four jackstands to lift whole car without causing any damage or considerable body flex?

go to lumber yard and buy a 1 x 12. cut it so you have 2 pcs 24 in long and 2
pcs 18 in long. woodscrew the short one on top of long one so that you have
2 little ramps . drive front up on ramps this will give you enough clearance for
a floor jack. start just in front of drivers door --push floor jack to the front
and center it under frame in front of main pulley. be careful with hood open.
if you have 8 ft ceiling hood will hit pretty soon. jack stands go a little way in
front of arrow on moulding. you will see a nice flat spot on the bottom of
the frame. for the rear use a jack-a-vette from 1 800 666
7728. it fits on your floor jack and has a little notch to mate with your diff-
erential housing. jack stands go near arrows in a cupped area there that
just fits top of jack stand. watch out for brake lines. this is a no twist way
to raise car, i hate to be twisting the frame all the time. nice looking engine.

Get a good quality 3 1/2 ton floor jack and you can raise the entire front end about 18" in one lift. (Sam's Club has some really nice ones for around $65.00). To raise the front roll the jack directly under the front of the car until the jack-pad is just under the front leaf spring casing. Once the front is up in the air, place a jack-stand under each side at the aft end; (back), of the angled side braces. These are the frame braces that start at the front of the engine and run to the back of the front wheel-wells. To raise the back, I remove the jack-pad and lift the vehicle at the jack points on the side of the car. (Done this about ten times and haven't damaged the plastic underside molding yet). Doing this leaves just enough space to put a stand under the frame just inside the front part of the rear tires. Be careful since there are a couple of fuel lines on the passenger side. Always x 3 take your time, set parking brake, don't get lazy, check and re-check jack-stand placement as the vehicle is lowered down onto the stands. Lastly give the car a good shake test before going under, some garage floor surfaces are not perfectly flat and you can get some rocking action!!! :chevy
