Default Dual Mass Flywheel

I am just curious as to what are the beginning signs that the dual mass flywheel might be starting to go?

Chattering, vibration, odd noises....expect about 80K of easy driving and less if you drive it like it was meant to be driven.

Why just 80K ???
I don't think that is quite accurate
Just my 2 cents

There are people here with 120k on stock clutches...all depends on how you drive it. If it's a used car, then the previous owner's driving habits is a HUGE unknown thrown into the equation.

The DMF chatters when you shut the car off. And, it can "clunk" at low-idle. Can almost sound like a rod banging in the motor!

The ZF doc guy says it's only an annoyance. You can continue to drive w/o causing problems. And, to be clear, we're talking about the flywheel, not the clutch.

Hey, a fellow Johnson County Vetter! That makes alot of sense, thanks. I think I have awhile to go, it just seems like she's been making a little more noise lately. But the ZF has always been a chatterer. Thanks --Chris

I'll see if I can find it.
