You'd probably be fine with some Bilstein HD shocks. KYBs are also nice. If you want to splurge, you can get the QA1 12-way adjustables. I sprung for a set of those when I had to replace my shocks recently, and love them! But at $150 per shock, they're definitely not cheap... Check out www.summitracing.com to compare shock pricing. Also www.jegs.com may have better prices; that's where I ended up getting my QA1's.
Eshocks.com has the cheapest prices you can find on the web. A couple forum members have recently bought from them and there were no problems. They are $78.65 each NEW and $314.60 for a NEW set of four. For orders over $200 they give free UPS ground to the continental US.
And, no, I am not affiliated in any way with that company.
Girlfriend had a set of Tokico's installed on her '96. They are stiffer then stock Delco/Bilstein shocks. I'm thinking about putting them on my '95 and storing the stockers in the attic.

suprised.....actually, i might not be. the tokicos are new and the delcos are a decade old. the tokico blue is a sport oem replacement shock. good alternative to the bilstein z51, cost less and perform similar.
