Default Quick engine swap question???

Ok sorry if I am impatient, I have been searching this forum to avoid asking an over asked question. I havent really found a definent aswer so I am gonna ask the precise question I want. Now with the disclaimer out of the way..
I am about to pull the trigger on acquiring a GM crate ls3 with the hot cam. I plan on getting all the required electronics with the package deal as well. SO will this be able to go into my 1987 vert with no problem(The reason I ask is my engine guy confessed some reserve over the 6.2 being able to fit nicely). And if things have to be changed to accommodate the swap is it a long painful ordeal that will break the bank in labor costs? Thank you in advance for your time.
P.S. If I there are any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them, I want to get my 87' going strong.

Thank you for the quick replies..
However I am still not completely certain of the ability of the LS3 6.2 to fit completely. It seems as though all the main information available is for LS1 swaps. So is this engine the same size and dimensions even though it is 376 CI. Thanks again.
P.S. What would anyone recommend for a transmission solution.

All LSx based motors are the EXACT SAME SIZE. From the 4.8 to the 7.0, so it will fit with the Speed Hound motor mounts and the Melrose C4 LS1 swap headers.

If there were a good trans solution the swap would be a lot more popular. You can get a T-56 and make your own c-beam mount, or use a C4 700R4 tailshaft on the 4L60E. This provides c-beam mount, but the c-beam will need work, since the LS1 will sit a bit further forward.

Hey thanks for the info. I was unsure and i second guessed my self when the auto restoration shop man was worried about the 6.2 fitting. Well now to research good tranny options.
