I answered in your other post over in C4 General. Just went through this yesterday. It sounds like you have an air pocket and need to "burp" your system.
Thanks.I decided to post here thinking that maybe this would be a more appropriate area for my problem, since the last time I checked no one had answered.I'll get over there right now.
"low coolant" lite goes active every time i open the system for 20 years now...just "top off" the rad every day for abt a week and the lite will give up.
The low coolant lamp is lit by a float switch. It could have stuck when you drained the coolant. As long as you know there is enough coolant in the system and the car is not running hot, don't worry about it.
Drive the car and check the coolant when its cool. The switch will hopefully start floating again. Give it a few days like someone said before.
my 87 does the same thing. i check it when its cool and its fine. runs in the upper 190s to 210 but light still comes on occasionally. as long as it runs cool im not too concerned with it.
