Hi all ,
Some advise please , how do you remove the turn signal cancelling cam along with its wiring loom and plug , im trying to accsess the head light high/low beam switch which is not working on high beam , I have everything stripped off back to the turn signal cancelling cam , but can not see how to remove it , dont want to damage anything, I have removed the screws that hold the turn signal cancelling cam , and if I move the wires at the plug , at the bottom of the steering colunm I can move it back and forth , were too from here ???????????????
Chiltons manual does not have any information that I can find on this subject ,
Any advise greatly appreciated .

Kind Regards ,
Brunty .

First of all you don't mention a year or have anything in your profile!

If it's a dimmer switch problem and not a mechanical problem in the upper column you don't need to get into the column. The switch is mounted towards the base of the column near the ignition switch. If you bought a new switch you'll know what to look for and the replacement is "very straight forward"!

If you're into the mechanical operation of the upper column it's another "whole new deal"!

I have removed the screws that hold the turn signal cancelling cam
The cancelling cam isn't retained by screws!

My appologise ,just new to this forum , year of car 1985 , there are three screws that go through the base of the turn signal cancell cam , the switch for the HEAD LIGHTS high / low beam is on the indicator stork , down inside the colunm on the left hand side behind the turn signal cancell cam , to get at it the only way I can see is to remove yhe turn signal cancell cam , and attached wiring loom , hope this helps , not sure where the profile section is ?

The high beam switch is bolted to the middle of the steering column.

Item #2 in this pic. shows the switch.

The switch is operated by a metal rod. Item #2 show in this pic.

If you operate the high beam switch, you should see the rod move. If you don't, the end of the rod at the steering wheel end may have popped off.
