overheating caused by bad injectors

I figure the #6 and #8 fuel injectors must have been running lean, causing those cylinders to run hot. who knows how many others were.
The car was ok before the arizona 112 degree days, but after the heat hit, the water temp jumped from 189-190 to 223 with the oat gauge reading 118. Higher after slowing down and stopping.
(oat=outside air temp)
Arizona has rubberized asphalt, and the surface temps are higher than plain asphalt. I relocated my mat sensor to the intake duct, sensing basically, surface temps. (pretty much just above the oat sensor)
The car just lacked power at freeway speeds, ran great when cold (oat is 95-100 degrees with a coolant temp sensor reading of 125) it was hard starting, and idled erratically. very noticeable above 200 degrees water temp. All gone.
the kicker for me was the water temp. I had to go 75mph or above to keep it cool. not now. The car now runs at 100 degrees over ambient temp.
'Course at 112 degrees, I don't push the car too much.
Just my 2c on the current multec injector awareness.
