hey guys have a 1990 vette with auto trans. what atf would you guys use. i saw where pete said no syn. so i was thinking castrol, any others you can think of of course could use good old dextron 2 thanks in advance geo.
thanks for the replys, i thought i had to pull pan to put a servo and gov. in. but you dont have to, so i prob. wont change it till later still looks nice and red geo.
I changed the fourth gear servo on mine, for a high performance part from Pete. It's high up on the passenger side. I didn't think much fluid would leak but it looks like at least two quarts did, probably more. Only a small trickle from the governor after that.
I'm using the NAPA brand atf thats made by ashland - which makes Valvoline.
Just have a deep pan for the atf that comes out with the servo and governor change. For the removal for my rebuild I just went to walmart and got a long and deep (but not too deep that its too tall for under the car) plastic storage container. It gives you a larger catch area, unlike a standard drip pan. You might not need one that big though for your mods.
