Re: Drive Safe on the First! (colotocali)
Taken care of, my wife and I are going to a hotel on the 31st for dinner, concert, etc. Breakfast in the AM on the 1st, then checkout and drive home stone cold sober! Such a deal
I never drink so I have nothing to worry about on that aspect, but if you drive a Vette you're a target, hiway patrols love to chase vettes, all others be doing 80mph on the hiway going thru a posted patrol at no bother, but if a vette goes by at 70 it's a sure pull over.
Same is true with Camaro/Trans AM, Porsche,Vipers......etc.
When I drive my Saturn sedan 75/80 MPH have no problem, but if I'm in my vette I stay on the right lane with the cruise contrl set at 55 while cheap Hundays are smoking me by at 75mph.
Any cops on this forum??? I'll appreciate your input, is this true, or I m just bein paranoid.....
If it's true, Why???
I agree totally, don't even give them an excuse to pull you over. Best be puke'n outside your passenger window all down your new paint job than to be caught for a DUI!

Well I for one have only been pulled over once in my 87 corvette not once in the others....and I was speeding when I got busted almost 30 over so i deserved it... I have never been targeted by cops or just pulled over for :bs And I have driven my 87 all over the country from florida up to New york to michigan down to new orleans...
It may be your area but I havent noticed it myself as long as your dont make yourself stick out you shouldnt have any problems, like I said Ive gotten one ticket in the vette and many others in other cars...
As a Quality Assurance consultant I travel from place to place on contract and I usually drive my '92. I have found that in most places going a little above the limit won't draw cops unless you are weaving in and out of traffic or driving dangerously. I have only been stopped once in my Vette, and that was for acceleration away from a light in Nashville. The cop said I was going like a bat out of hell but when I pointed out that there was no tire smoke or black streaks on the road he let me off with a verbal warning.
Go with the flow, stick to your lane, don't pass on the right or tailgate while flashing your lights and you should be fine. Remember, ol' smokeys main reason for being is to get dangerous drivers off the road - and protect our investments.
