Default Which Headers and why??

Can anybody tell me the difference in performance and or quality the TPIS or Lingenfelter headers provide over the Hooker? They all are coated units so I think the construction is about the same.

For the $200-300 price difference between the three I'm willing to bet that you won't see a 44-66% increase in performance or quality to justify the cost.

Anyway, thinking about spring and what I can buy with the money I don't spend on the headers :D

I was looking at DRM headers, but the price was crazy. I finally got a deal on a set of Hookers that fit. I think a lot of the hype is that nothing is made specifically for an LT1 vette without it coming from a vette performance specialist, like DRM or Lingenfelter. That thing is that Hooker L98 headers will fit, even with the cost of the exhaust work added it, it's usually cheaper than the huge names. As far as if they are better or worse? Who knows, I felt a seriious power boost when I added my Hookers, I'm getting it dyno'd on January 5th so I can see how much I picked up.

I think it's just a bunch of hype becaause they say they are made for the LT1.

My car is an L98 so there's a larger selection available for it , but you can see by the prices that going to a 'corvette speciality' shop still costs you extra. I think you're right on about the hype, jusy making sure I didn't over look anything because compared to the rest, the hookers seem too good to be true.

Which model hooker did you install? Post your dyno run when you get it so I can see what kind of improvement the headers make.

well i say get the TPIS, theyre large headers made for the vette. Lingenfelter charges too much money ahd their headers have a waiting list 5 miles long. TPIS is cheaper and is basically the same quality. Its all a bunch of hype

I got the 2151's because I don't have to worry about emissions and they look cleaner than the 2149''s which still have the emissions stuff intact. You might contact ChrisK@speeddemonmotorsports.com He sold me mine and I was very pleased with the service and the finish on the headers is awesome. They are not a high polish chrome like finish, but it doesn't look bad. It looks like it would be fairly durable, so far so good. There are some pictures on my web page http://24.17.202.123

I will post my dyno results, I'm real curious what they did for me. It won't be just headers, rather a complete exhaust system. It still has parts of the stock system, but not much. Hooker Long tubes, x-pipe and flowmaster mufflers. I want to get to 350 rwhp.
