Default More SR questions

Okay, so I'm STILL dealing with all the RTV on my car.

First question...How do I get the plenum lid off? It is glued on. I used the chisel (as per the suggestions of our wonderful members ) to get the entire plenum off, but the lid is a little tougher...pointers?

Next, I'm sure in cleaning off all the RTV from the runners, something had to fall down into the intake. (Its on the car) I vacuumed out the runners and stuff with a shop vac, is this adequate? Will the RTV hurt anything...?

Thanks in advanced guys!

Is there a reason to take off the lid of the SR? There is nothing in there that moves. If you want to clean it out, use a carb cleaner and a cloth. Or use lacquer thinner and a brass brush and a little compressed air thru the passages. If you don't have to take it (lid) off, just leave it on.

When they cast the plenum and then machine it, they have to have access to the inside, thus the lid.

I took the bolts out by mistake, will I be able to put the bolts back in w/o re-sealing it with a gasket and RTV? I don't want it to leak...

If you did not break the gasket seal, which it sounds like you did not, then you will be okay.
