If your fan is working then it's may not be a fan issue. Is your rad clean? Is there debrie between the condenser and rad?

My project doesn't have but maybe 50 miles on a new radiator so its not dirty. and i pulled out the condenser. but i recently dropped in a new motor and trashed to old crossfire so i guess it maybe something there.

I've got a carbed 383 in my 84 and it runs at normal temperatures with the stock radiator and stock fan. You sure your fan switch is kicking in? To answer your question, though, you can get a secondary fan from an 86-89 (I think those are the years) and wire it in series with your existing fan so the same relay kicks on both. However, if it's overheating at speed (35mph+) the fan won't really help. If you're only overheating at idle and stop&go traffic a fan will help, but over 35mph the fan isn't moving any more air than the car is sucking in naturally.

Depends on what's causing you're overheating in the first place. Check the following first;

1. Thermostat is opening at the correct temps.
2. System is pressurizing
3. Water pump flow
4. No obstructions in hoses.
5. Stock fan coming on at around 225, off around 205....fan motor, switch, and relay operational?

Can you give us some more details about your new engine and mods?
