Won't start
I'm trying to help a neighbor lady with her 95 automatic. The starter doesn't engage. It worked fine last time she drove it. Now when you turn the key to start position you can hear a click but no starter engagement. Charged the battery and also tried jump starting. Same thing, just a click. If if happened on my 71 I would immediately suspect the starter solenoid. However I'm not familiar with the later models with anti-theft and computer controls.

If there is a click it's not the security system. I don't know if you can get a separate solenoid, I have not done a solenoid only since like 1988. Might as well just replace it all as long as you taking it apart. But first make sure th battery is fully charged and the terminal s are clean.
