Default A/C and Heater Control problem

My heater control panel is malfunctioning. I looked into replacing it and HOLY CR@P!!! those are expensive (I have 1990 coupe with C68)

My question is.....

Are the 90-03 the same as the 94-96 electronically? Could I get a 94-96 and exchange the front panels?

If not, anyone got one they want to sell?

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the control head. This fixes 90% of the problems people have with the unit.

Not only do the buttons not work, the display is acting up as well. would cleaning the contacts be the solution still?

You say that "the display is acting up". What do you mean? Is it flashing continuously or intermittently or what?

Flashing often means the HVAC computer is trying to tell you that something is wrong with the system. To check for codes try this link:

This link has more information on the C68 Electronic Control than you will ever need:

Thanks for all the help. Just cleaning the contacts solved everything!

The display was flashing, it was just not displaying the numbers correctly.

Default Good old ebay

I was having similar problems last summer and found a used one one ebay for $50. It has worked fine since then. I didn't keep the site name, but by various searches you should be able to locate one.
