Default Need prom burned for 85

I will be putting the new motor back in the car next week (I hope) and will need to get somebody to burn me a prom for the new combination. I know the 85 is a off the wall ECM and I am having trouble finding somebody still working with this old stuff.

Any help on some leads of who to call to purchase a custom prom would be great.

Thanks
Phil

I looked at PCMFORLESS and they show only going down to 86. I have a call in to them to call me back.

Trying to find this damn prom is REALLY turing into a PITA.

TPIS did mine a few years back, maybe they would burn one for you. They are expensive though...

I talked to them and they do not do the 85 anymore. At this point the price is not a issue as much as just finding somebody to do it

Let me know what you find on this. I was planning some more engine mods, but if I can't get a tune...

I usually keep trying every now and then. I'm allergic to voice mail.

Maybe we should all just upgrade the ecm and harness.

Nah. Gotta be someone out there who can do this. I might have to try burning my own prom if all else fails. That won't be pretty.

On a serious note here, what would be involved in switching to the 86 and up computers?

Repin the harness, plug in the '86-89 computer.

I posted about this a few weeks ago. Let me dig it up.

Here it is:

Here is a better thread than the one from Mike Davis...there are a few changes from the Mike Davis file....it also has some BIN files you can start with, if you want to get into tuning and proms...

I'm not sure Alvin is doing the 85's any more....last time I talked with him, he said that he wasn't supporting the 85 any more, but you'll have to talk with him to confirm. I sure would not want to put words in his mouth that weren't true.....

Cheers,
Michael
