you probably need to determine if you switched heater hoses for smog pump hoses.
I will it is confusing up front if you don't look at the hoses a a lot or you haven't taken this tuff apart a few times.
I would bet that you have a hose going the wrong place.
If you have a FSM or even a chilton's or look up on Checker's website or Auto Zone's for smog hose replacements, and they might have a page showing where they hook up.
It doesn't sound serious. just be patient and take the smog hoses off, and notice which ones seem really tight or loose on the tubing. Those are probably suspect. THe tubes are slightly different sizes.
