I am doing the intake gaskets and was about to put the distributor back in when I noticed this wire? I didn't see any spot where it may have come from. It does not look like it was freshly broken off or cut and I am at a loss. Any input/ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Den
Does it not connect to the wire on the left with the crimp connector on it?
HEI dist wiring plug has blk / red , pur/ wht , wht and tan / blk wires into base of dist.
Why are your wires removed from inside the dist ; most just undo the black plug shown to remove dist.

Nope, doesn't go there...as I tried to undo the plug it was not coming loose so I did not want to break the clip so I just unhooked it!
It does on the FSM wiring diagram. Is the spark timing output.
The four wires I mention go from the ECM direct to the dist base through the blk plug.
Where does the white wire on left run to?
Custom wiring by someone?

May be custom wirirng, it sure looks like it should be to the far left wire that is spliced. I am not at home so not sure but I think it goes in to the harness in the back with the other wires. I wonder if the previous owner had a problem, (burnt off/broke off) and just spliced in new piece? I don't know!
