Default Teflon washers......

Just got off the phone with DTS and ordered Spicer u-joints for my '96. No problem there but I mentioned the Teflon washers that I read that should be replaced when doing the u-joints. The guy had never heard of them! Have I go this confused with a different year or something? If I'm not wrong, anybody got a part number so I can call him back? -Mike

I think this is the number Mike, but you don't really need to remove them to do u-joints.

These more often get talked about as part of the wheel bearing replacement. That may be the reason for his confusion.

I got mine from the dealership, no one else had them. They were about $9.00 each and they got them in about 2 days. WW

Yep, that's what I ended up doing. In no hurry so a few days will be fine. This is the last thing except the stall from Pete K. Then the work begins on this pumpkin/stall converter/u-joints/telflon washer change.

Thanks to TT for the GM part #'s!

I've been doing a little bit of research and I've found them here (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm) for $4.28 a piece. It seems to be the best price out there so far. The highest I've seen is almost $10 a peice, so be careful and find a good price before you purchase!
