Lt4 With Automatic
Why didn't the LT4 come with an auto trans. Was it to much power or to much rpm. I have a new LT4 crate engine that I want to put into
my 1992 C4 automatic. I am pretty much stuck with the auto. Am I asking for a lot of headaches.

Supposedly because GM didn't want to get the Auto / LT4 combination EPA certified.
You can do the LT4 and auto combo. There was one local for a long time. The only modification I was told os was a higher stall converter.

Thanks, have been sitting with this engine for a couple months but was reading so many negative threads I wanted all the info I could get before installing. The trans issue was only thing holding me back. Think I'll go ahead with it...Thanks
