Default Dyno Results

Hey guys, just had the 87 on the dyno at Injection Connection and still need a couple of things. The main issue is the IAT. With no intercooler, I am going to go with the Snow Injection with the methanol. My temps were off the FAST charts. Did manage to cool it down somewhat and saw huge gains. Base at 22 deg timing was 620 RWHp with 548 ft.lbs of torque. After 24, and 26 degrees of timing and cooler IAT, Dale Cherry managed to pull out 690 RWHp at 6600 and 597 ft.lbs of torque. IAT's are still high at over 230 degrees so I didn't want to push my luck.
Tell me what you guys think about this combo:396 sbc, Vortech V7 YSI, AFR 195 CC Heads, 700R4 trans, Dana 36 with 3:73 gears and all run on a 6-Rib Serpentine belt. Not too shabby!
I am hoping to have well over 700RWHp shortly. All figures are SAE.

how much boost were you seeing off that 6 rib? What was your pulley combo? How high are you reving the motor?

Nice numbers. Get a snow kit and you're over 700. Is this on pump gas?

Running 6-rib with 15.1lbs of boost. Only ran it to 6500Rpm. I think the impeller speed is around 58-60,000rpm. I used 93 Sunoco mixed with 5 gallons of the VP Streetblaze 100 Octane. Normally I would run the Sunoco C16, which is 112 Leaded. I can get that here for around 9.00 a gallon. Conservative tune, eh gas and no intercooler. I must say the trans is mighty special along with the rear to withstand the power, so I guess it can be done, just don't ask me how many times the trans has been in and out! Running stock crank pulley and forget the s/c pulley diameter offhand.

Kudos on keeping the drive train in one piece. After my 6th 700r4 rebuild I just switched over to the ZF-6. I would love to have an auto back for drag racing though.

I'm not sure how the D36 has kept up. If you get any kind of traction I'm guessing it probably won't.

How come not a/a or a/w intercooler? it would take a bit of work, but I would think it would be better for the setup than a large shot of the meth injection. Then you can run a smaller shot of meth on top of that for saftey sake. With the amount you'll have to inject you better get a BIG tank for it or you'll have to fill it up every 100 miles.

I can't wait to see some track times for that beast.

That's incredible! Do you have any pics of the belt setup and how much belt wrap there is on the head unit? My blower has had trouble making over 700 with an 8 rib!

Ditto for me! What are you doing to prevent belt slip?

L98 and good belt wrap on the driven shive. You can get high boost using the 6-rib system.

That's excellent numbers. Dale Cherry is a good FAST tuner and well respected in the FAST community. You look to be in good hands. Good luck with the combo!

Default C/r

Compression ratio is 10:1. custom venolia pistons, eagle crank, rods, manley valves, comp springs, harland sharp rockers, crane cam, custom grind, crane custom billet timing chain and gears, hellfire gapless rings, fel-pro mls head gaskets. The Vortech pulley is 2 7/8". The cam is milder than the earlier one which was 666 lift, 262 duration with 114 sep. This cam is milder. Rocker ratio is 1.60 intake and exhaust. TPIS headers with 3" dual exhaust. If you would like to see pics, just pm me, I would appreciate that instead of the web. There really isn't any big secrets here: it just works. The tuner is the best power adder by far.
I also have the Edelbrock performer efi manif. with the precision eng turnspout. Accufab 90 mm t/b. Now the real treat: factory radiator and t/cooler NEVER runs above 190 deg.MSD 6AL and thats it. Car weighs 3122 with a full tank and me in it. I'm 180.
