With this, if you plug in your laptop scanner to your vette, give me your IP and laptop MAC address, and I can log on to your vette's computer from my house.
well I have the snap-on modis its the best one that snap-on has and I have the domestic import and euro software and I paid $7500 for it brand new it has every thing that one has and more so I cant Imagine it costing more then that.

Instant diagnosis.
I didn't find the details for this on their site but since they don't talk specifically about remote scanning or remote programming, I have a feeling this just might mean it can update its own software from the internet?

That would be my guess.
You can already do remote tuning + scanning with remote desktop, it's built into windows.
Good luck getting a permanent wireless connection while driving though.

Yeah, it says it can update from a server, with optional hardwire to connect to your pc/internet.
I'm sure it can be configured to log on to any IP address... Wouldn't ya' think? The wireless/bluetooth model I linked to post 10 can I'm sure...
I dunno. Really no documentation on it on their site. They do have a couple interesting tech tips I saved, talking about GM relearn procedures and GM PROM identification in general.
I just need to find a good program to use for scanning/logging - preferably using linux. And a cheap laptop and cheap cable.
You can use Norton to dial into anybody's laptop( as long as you know the IP address and the system is set to share) and use Datamaster and I can do most everything that stuff can do, except diagnose problems.
For around the costof Datamaster and $100 Norton software.
