hey guys, its been along time but i have been very busy latly with family and work,as you all remeber i got in an accident with the '91 so i sold it as is and decided to get a new one in the summer,i love the c4 but the c5 looks like more power,ok heres the question if it was up to you guys would you get a 2002 Z06 or a ZR-1...personally i want more power but the word is ,that the Z06 is faster, personally i think a '95 ZR-1 can take it
thanks
i heard that as well, but it wasn't a very big difference, although that key for full power freaks me out..lol!!i love that!but i have a feeling with some minor mods the z06 can't touch the zr-1
thanks
up to the 1/4 mi. a Z06 will beat a ZR-1 (stock). But a LT5 will pull and pull and pull and leave the LS6 in a wake of dust after that. Remember the pushrods in the LS6
Well, you get more little features and new things with the c5, and a warranty eh? But, I mean come on, ZR-1, is that even a question? The c5 can sit at the dealership.
Well...the funny thing is low mileage a C5 can be bought for far less than a low mileage ZR-1. The list of mods for a ZR-1 is limited, and the list of mods for a C5 is huge. The C5 has a better suspension. The C5 has a better body/chassis ( I, for one, am tired of creaking noises from my dash, top and hatch. )
All I am saying is unless you want a collector car, the C5 is a better deal than the ZR-1.
i would use it as a daily driver...so i guess i will have to make a tough decision, although zr-1 owners are telling me that there is no way that the z06 can keep up on the highway,i find that alittle hard to believe since the zo6 is also 405hp but lighter..hmm maybe they are alittle biased
thanks
A very nice 90-92 ZR-1 can be had low 20K. And it doesn't have to be a collector car. My ZR-1 isn't. I bought it to race, cruise and show. Have fun with a ZR-1, you will love it!

I agree Cars were ment to be drivin!!!! they make very poor investments. As far as mods are concerned ZR-1's are on par price wise with LS1 mods both are expensive but, The traditional layout of engine connected directly to the trans is cheaper. Plus the ZF-6 is a proven trans (Read very strong!!!!) the minus is that the ZF is also noiser than the new transaxle. Its pretty much a personal decision of design and ergonomics. Yes it is much easyer to get into an 06 than a ZR but I kindof like the "fighter cockpit" feel of the C4 (forgive me on this one I'm an aircraft mechanic :D ) In the end Its your choice. :chevy :seeya
Ask yourself this. When it breaks down, who will fix the ZR1 ASAP and get it back on the road? You know a good ZR1 mechanic? Have the $$$ for ZR1 repairs? Z06 will cost more but will come with warranty. Good luck finding good vette mechanic period
I think the ZR1 would make a great weekend warrior. C5 better for daily driver. That's in my case anyways. No one can answer the question better than you.
Personally I would get the Z06. The only thing a C4 has over a C5 are seats and gauge coloring. I hate green colored gauges, they annoy the hell out of me at night!
