I'm trying to make my winbin to work but I just can't get it.
I have downloaded Winbin, .bin files, and .ecu files but every time when i try to edit file message "ECU file error" pops up.
I have downloaded .ecu files from DIY-EFI site.
WinBin is far from foolproof, but it is nice because it is free. When I tried it out a while ago, I remember having to have all my ECU and BIN files in the same directory. It was weird because I could open up one file under a certain ECU and it looked totally different under a different ECU even though they were both for the same one. Like the Doc said, make sure the ECU is correct. -Matt-
O.K.
I found .ecu file and now the software works but I'm getting some stupid values everywhere. I guess that is because .cu and .bin files are not for same car.
Does anyone have .ecu and .bin file for my ecm?
My ecm # 16198260 but I think it's the same thing as # 1227727 or
# 1227730!
On the EPROM - ANHT 4298.
If you have PLEASE mail it to me.
This is just a WAG, but I believe the .ecu files for the Corvette and F-body *have* to be different...Even for the same computer...Because the Corvette uses inputs that the F-body doesn't (4+3 tranny inputs, fr'instance)...And GM has no uniform standard for placement of values in their Binary files...Even for year to year in the *same* body style...
I tried WinBin for my '86 165 ECM; but no one had the correct 32 .ecu file for it...
