Default No SES light????

Ok, I am little confused here. In most of the GM cars when you turn the key to on position, the SES light comes on then it goes away after you start the car as long as you have no issues. Well in my 1993 LT1 auto, I have never seen the SES light, light up at any time not even when the key is just on. Is this normal? or is it because the bulb is out? I also replace my PCM to solve other issues. The last time with the old PCM they (the dealer) couldn't even communicate with PCM to get the coded out. Now with a different PCM, the car runs good but I feel that there is something wrong as to why the light doesn't light up.

Typicaly, when there is no SES light on when the key is in run position, there are MAJOR problems in the computer and the car won't run. The only thing I can think of is that someone either took the bulb out or it burned out on its own. I know it is a pain to get at the bulb area but I am courious as to wheather or not the bulb is there. Let us know

Did you scan the car? I "think" a burned out bulb actually throws a code, 13 seems to come to mind.

13 is for a shorted o2 sensor circuit.

Well depends on year, the codes aren't all the same from year to year, but I'm not even sure if 13 is the one I'm thinking of, but I remember getting one because of a burned out SES light

Initially, they tried at the dealer but they said that they couldn't communicate with the PCM. Now that I replaced the PCM with a good used one, I have not taken it back to the dealer.

By the way my buddy works for the dealer so that I just have to have him take it back again.

Thanks
