Fuel pressure....

What is the recomended fuel pressure on an 85 with free flowing intake and exhaust?

Ignition on, hose disconnected to pressure regulator and plugged...pressure should be between 34-39 psi.

At idle...pressure should be 24-36 psi

There's some recommended specs for fuel pressure in a magazine article I posted up. Search 'Tuning TPI'...

Mr FICINJECTORS has the article now, and tons more info...

according to the article they say that the 85 is 40 psi.. I tend to differ with them. 85 rail pressure should be 36. the 85 uses 24lb injectors because there were no 22's. The fuel pressure was lowered to 36 to make the 24 bosch flow 22 actual. in 86 they used a 22 rated at 43.5 psi.
