exhaust headers
Does anyone have any recommendations for headers for a '93 lt-1? I have the power-effects cat-back system on it now but it needs to breath some more because of other mods being done. Thanks!

Do a search, this topic has been worn out. But it dependson what you want the headers to do, 1 5/8 for stock or close to stock or high torque and 1 3/4 primaries for high HP.
Hedman Elites are probably the best bang for buck(1 5/8), then Hookers(1 3/4), TPiS and EM'sare just a few.

You probably need to decide if Shorties or long tubes are what YOU need. I've read about EM long tubes rusting sooner than expected, even with their coating. I have a set waiting in the wings for my next upgrade. I hope what I've read is not true.

I am in the same position as you. Have had the EM's sitting in the box since I got them. I was very disappointed reading about how they rust so soon. The coating looks awesome, so time will tell, if I ever get around to putting them on.

I have the stainless works 1 5/8 longtubes.They are pricier than some but the fit is good and I don't think they will rust.
Unless you have ported heads and/or a cam I would look elsewhere for hp vs dollars spent.
