I have thought a lot about that.

Pretty much what got me here!

I just freak about all that heat near the gas tank.

I keep seeing this large Fire Ball?

Actually, it's a whole lot less work, just 'different" from what's done. Seriously, the parts are industrial shelf stuff. Trick is getting the right ones.

Let's forget how stupid I am, and I'll rephrase this question a tad ?

The car in question is a 1989. L98.

I wish the same orientation, Blower to the front of the front engine plane, not rear facing.

I have seen LT1 set up with the blower on the right . I wish the same orientation, but with the Blower on the driver's side , in front of the front engine plane, not rear facing.

So I ask the people who make their money selling theses things this question [ via email] .....

Zero response from the people selling these things. I guess business is good or......................... NO KIT ???

So Blower 101: ....... Impeller direction is obviously [ to me] the reason. L98 mounts one way,.... LT1 there other.

One part does both jobs. Great arrangement for LT bad deal for L98.

Not what I want to do.

So.... Any have any knowledge of a product that has Right or Left Impellers options?

Then get a reverse rotarion unit and mount it in front of the engine on the drivers side.

Vortech has both clockwise and counterclockwise variations of their superchargers.
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...=SUPERCHARGERS

You need some custom brackets and some custom plumbing.

You also have to figure out how to route the belt.
Removing the AIR-pump and positioning the supercharger pulley there might work. You probably have to add som idler pulleys to get enough belt wrap.

And you should mount the supercharger to the engine or you will get into problems. A moving engine and a non moving supercharger pulley is a bad idea. There are a lot of horsepower being transfered by that belt and the brackets need to be rock solid to keep the belt aligned.

or...... find a wrecked vette ina junk yard and nab all the accesories and brackets from it and purchase an electric waterpump and use an LT1 kit.... this would get you what ya want and without an optispark contact brand-x for his 8 rib dedicated blower drive bracketry.. now you have something different on an L98 that does what you want, has no belt slip and piecing it together this way works to your advantage and should be cheaper then buying a complete kit.

Thanks it’s good to know CW & CCW flows are a shelf item. Custom brackets are not too much of an issue. Have a resource there.

I’m pretty much resigned to the fact that a frame mount is financially impractical.

The torque loads on the coupling device get mighty hairy as the RPM's go up.

My bright idea takes two pulleys and a 25 degree power coupler grew to $775.00 when sized [ correctly] for the loads. Just the mass of the pulleys made it a matter of diminishing returns.

Vortech has not responded to the request yet? But then I really want a used unit to play with.

In fact a broken unit to play with would do?

Getting that “ can be done” answer is my goal.
