Intermittent hunting idle
Can't seem to get the forum search to work right now. I have been having a hard time figuring out a hunting idle problem. I only seem to have this problem crop up once every so often. For the majority of the time, the idle is fine. However, on rare occasions, idle will swing between 450 and 750 RPM. I have not been able to detect any vacuum leaks. The IAC is new. The throttle body is clean. Minimum air adjustment has been checked and TPS voltage verified at .54. No codes have been thrown.
Any other ideas on what to check? The intermittent nature of this problem has been driving me crazy.
1985 4+3 with no mods.

I don't know if your problem is the same as minebut here it goes. I found a broken wire on my number eight injector. Had to soder it back on and the hunting was gone. I to spent a lot of money on other crap. Hope you find this helpful.
