Default 1996 CE Auto - Throttle Cable Adjustment

I have an idling issue with my car, car starts and runs fine, but when it gets warm it takes a while for the idle to drop down and settle at around 900rpm, this is most noticable when de-accelerating or driving in slow traffic, car wants to keep driving faster which can be a real pia.
I have checked, cleaned and changed all parts connected to the throttle body without any change,
I noticed the other day the throttle cable may be sticking slightly, it may have got kinked when I was working on the engine during last winter, anyway, is there any adjustment on these cables or should it be replaced, I noticed one cable goes into the cruise control unit and two other come out of this unit, one goes to the throttle pedal and one goes to a vacuum unit.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Adjusting it will not fix the sticking. There are 2 buttons on the cable that release it(shorten). I would not mess with the one from the ASR to the pedal but if you release the one from the TB to the ASR and have someone push the pedal to the floor it will tighten it up. You should hear a few click as it deadheads at the TB WOT stop.

There are retangular blocks on the cable the center of those blocks are buttons that when depressed release the cable .You really need to get a FSM before you start playing with the car.The FSM details what you should do.
