'91 stock, 93k miles, replacing rear spring. Do I need to replace the 4 bushings? How important is it? I was planning on replacing them, but now I have the car up on jacks and I find out GM doesn't make them anymore and I would need to order the poly bushings. I have also heard the rumors that the poly ones sometimes squeek.
Not sure about the "importance' of new bushings but it would a great opportunity to go to poly bushings.
Check the Enegy Suspension site (or with Summit) to see if they have the poly graphite bushings for the spring.
I used this type of graphite impregnated bushings for the sway bars along with ample amounts of a good silicong grease and have no squeaking issues.
Here's the ES link, add a "G" suffix to the part number to specify the black polygraphite bushings, e.g. P/N 3.2123G.
