anyone here ever install glasspacks or cherry bombs on a lt1? either a vett or a z28 or a trans am equipped with a lt1? what does it sound like is it better or worse than much more expensive exhaust?
Pretty much anyone with the targa style muffler is using glass packs. From the ones I've heard, they sound good... not sure how the noise level inside the car is thou.
You might want to consider just taking the mufflers off and replacing them with pipe and tips. Many members on the forum do it and most love the results... deeper sound and not overly loud. Might have a slight loss of lower end power thou.
Sorry no LT1 experience, but...I have them (Targa's) on my L98. Sounds great. They are loud from the inside of the car. I used a Walker Catback y-pipe with a crossover to reduce resonance. Way less expensive than others.
sorry for the lack of knowledge but what is the difference between targas and glass packs and cherry bombs? i know that cherry bombs are a brand of glasspacks i think but ive never heard of targas? are you refering to the actual body style(coupe)? or is there a type of mufflers called targa? ( a brand name?)
My GTA has a cherry-bomb on it. At first I didn't like it because it sounded like a truck (Every truck around here has cherry bombs), but it grew on me very quickly. It's deep and it's kind of loud, but I don't get any resonance.
