1990 ZR1 radio problem
Hi all, I'm helping a friend fix a radio problem in a 1990 ZR1, the codes don,t seems to be unlocking the radio. The radio makes a high pitched sound when you turn it on. We have followed the instructions in the owners manual with no luck. Is there a way to by pass this complete lock system? It says if you can't figure it out,take it to the dealer, what could a dealer do???that we can't ?

Do you know if the radio works? It sounds like the amplifiers may have gone out. Each speaker has its own amplifier.
The are a couple of articles in the tech section about repairing or replacing the amps.
On my 90, I had two bad amps. I sent all four of them to Bose and had them rebuilt. That was in 2000 and have not had any problems since.
