ACCEL/SuperRam Lid controversy (rant-I think)
I read in a magazine (superchevy-I believe), that ACCEL was offering to swap your regular plenum lid for a billet one, if you had problems. Mine came last february after waiting for 7 weeks and 7 calls to LPE (XMAS backorder problems). When it showed up the lid had a dent on the driver side like it was used. and was not all that flat. When I went to bolt it on the engine. I found 6 holes on either side that would not line up. Up to quarter inch off in some cases. I marked the true holes and made the holes larger to line up and seal. Then I read this article in magazine. I search the MR. Gasket/ACCEL web. I find the email address. I send email two diff times. Second one, I get a response to call this number long distance. The ACCEL guy says the magazine is wrong, and that only 20 Lids were miss made. I am now supposed to take my car off the street, and send my lid to them for inspection. They will replace it with another one of the same kind, if something is wrong with it. NOT the Billet one, like they did in the magazine article. :mad I must be doing something wrong. :confused: Now I read they have raised the prices of it 27%. The ACCEL injectors better not go bad. :eek:

My lid was a little warped also, but all the holes did line up. I'm sorry to hear that, what do they get for a new lid. The last I heard the billet was 130 or so.

Verdict on the injectors coming soon.....did you peruse that thread named "replaced my Accel injectors, they suck!" ??

The statement that Accel would replace any deformed cast lids with billet lids was in GM High Performance this month or last (Got it as a stocking stuffer--the magazine, not the SuperRam :D). -Matt-
