I found pictures of all of the hardware/piping I can remove from the Air system. What about alot of those little hard black semi flexible vacuum lines that run across the intake? For example there is a rubber block that some of those lines go into mounted at the water neck on the intake. Is it needed? The FSM says its an egr switch? I can find no diagram showing these lines in the manual????? Thanks ahead of time
The only one you need to cap would be the long one that runs off the 3 way tee near fuel pressure regulator, under plenum and runners, to the front air diverter box. I plugged it at the tee.
The one near the thermostat housing is the EGR switch. You don't even need to be touching that one.
The check valves on the exhaust manifolds are one way flow. So unless they have failed, you don't have to cap those.
You can remove all the rest of the air stuff, uncluding those diverter boxes. No codes will be thrown.
Air pump has nothing to do with anything that's vacuum actuated. Why would you want to do this to a 35th Anniversary Vette?
Im putting on headers without all the smog stuff. I'll keep all the parts in case I want to put it back to origional. This car is not a pristine origional, its a driver I brought back from the dead. I figured I could delete all the egr stuff along with the pump.

If you don't want to pull the plenum off to remove the EGR valve then you can get away with just capping the EGR crossover port at the rear of intake by the dist.
Valve is normally closed , once you remove the EGR solenoid by the thermo there is nothing to open it.

Actually I pulled the motor and tranny, and have now installed a zz4 crate motor and a new tranny. So its all easy as I put it back in piece by piece. Like I said I just wanted to delete for now all of the smog crap that is not needed, to clean up the engine bay.
